NATURE HEALS  &  INSPIRES EVENTS 2006

Sweet are the uses of adversity
Which, like the toad ugly and venomous,
Wears yet a precious jewel in his head
And this our life, exempt from the public haunt,
Finds tongues in trees, Books in the running brooks
Sermons in stones and Good in everything!

PROGRAMME:

Experience Self-empowerment - Fun - Creativity  in this innovative workshop! The programme is participant-centred i.e. will go at the pace, and with any minor variations, that the participants find most helpful. Part of the aim of the preparatory exercises is to help us slow down to the pace and harmonious, effortless flow of nature. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace - there is no rush, push or pressure in this workshop!

2.30-3.30pm - CLEAR HELD-IN STRESS - RELAX - RAISE ENERGY LEVEL
Clearing held-in stress and tension via a range of walking meditation techniques and simple easy loosening and bioenergetics exercises, which are cleansing, relaxing, "grounding" and integrating. These exercises release energy blocks and raise spirits while also calming and relaxing the body and clearing mental agitation and worry. They are useful skills to learn for controlling stress and distressed, tense, or upset feelings.

3.30-4.30pm - MOBILISE PERSONAL RESOURCES & INTUITIVE POWER
"Free spirit" moving tai chi (energy cultivation) exercises, alone, with a partner and then moving in harmony through woodland. Easy to learn, no previous experience required.

"Plant spirit healing" - an intuitive co-healing (i.e. working in pairs as healers for each other) technique for accessing your unconscious or divine deep inner guidance and insight via the mediation of plants. When we try to access deep or divine (spiritual) guidance ourselves we are sometimes obstructed or confused by our own "hang-ups" or "blinkered vision". Working in a simple intuitive way with a partner (who will be provided) you help each other to "hear" a simple piece of insight, creative idea or wisdom about any situation or feeling which may be bothering you.

4.30-5.30pm - HUMAN REFLECTION, SUPPORT, CONNECTION - DIETARY BOOST from NATURE
Opportunity to share any experiences related to the "Plant spirit healing" experience (if you wish).
Edible wild plants: Guided tour of edible wild plants which are a rich and free organic source of minerals, vitamins and enzymes. Nutrient-rich, pesticide-free additions to our diet boost the immune system, enhance our detoxification of traffic pollution and bolster up our resilience to stress.

Please bring:

Afterwards, at 5.30 pm, we can either have a picnic together (if a very warm day!) or go to Tesco's cafe in Bar Hill.

Mobility impaired?

If you have any kind of movement problem or travel in a wheelchair, you are welcome to join this class and the exercises will be tailored to your requirements. The ground and paths are not very easy in a wheelchair, but it is all do-able, especially if you have an able-bodied assistant with you. Please tell us in advance of any infirmity or special requirements that you may have, so that we can be prepared.

DIRECTIONS - By Car

From M11
Continue Northwards as the M11 ends and is continued as the A14. When the A14 forks, take the right hand (main) fork towards Huntingdon and the A1.

From A14 Northbound
Take A14 North, e.g. by leaving Cambridge along Huntingdon Rd. After 4 miles (after passing the Crematorium) take the left filter lane for Bar Hill = B1050.

As you leave the A14 at Bar Hill, pass large (Moat House - no.5 on map) hotel on Left

At roundabout by the hotel turn Left along CRAFTS WAY (road which orbits Bar Hill village)

From A14 Southbound
Leave at Bar Hill/Longstanton/Earith turnoff. The exit road (take care - traffic is 2-way here) curves round to left and back over top of the A14.
After crossing over the A14 bridge into Bar Hill, you come to a large roundabout with a large hotel set back at the far side. Go round the roundabout past the hotel entrance road and take next left = CRAFTS WAY (road which orbits Bar Hill village). In other words you go straight over at the big roundabout.

From CRAFTS WAY (the road which orbits Bar Hill village)
Go past golf course on left and past road called "The Fairway" on left, stop at the road called "Thruffle Way". You can PARK in lay-by just before "Thruffle Way" or on "Thruffle Way" itself. Do not obstruct the gated entrance to the golf course.

Walk along Crafts Way a few more yards, passing 40 mile an hour sign on lamppost and take the next footpath, running alongside the oak wood, through small tree plantation. After 50 metres, path branches, go straight ahead through hedge and over a ditch to enter very large field.

Walk to far corner of field, keeping alongside the oak wood (on your left), there is the old barn, where we will meet at 2.30 pm.

Alternatively: follow the path that leads through the oak wood, away from the Bar Hill orbital road, until you get to the old rusted Dutch barn (see map below).

DIRECTIONS - By Bus

From Cambridge (Emmanuel St.) & Girton
Bus "Citi 5" run by Stagecoach, every 20 mins Mon-Sat: Citi 5 timetable
Where to get off the bus: stay on at Tesco's. go round the ring road (heart-shaped on the bus-route map), ask to be let off at the Hillcrest (Rd) bus stop, which is the stop after Appletrees. Cross the road and walk up the hill 100 metres then turn right into the oak wood (just before the golf course - see map on this page). Follow the path that leads through the oak wood, away from the Bar Hill orbital road, until you get to the old rusted-roof open barn.

IF IT RAINS!

If weather is at least reasonably fine (i.e. we will not get soaked) we will meet at the oak wood in Bar Hill. If clearly wet we will meet at the Merton Hall farmhouse in Madingley Rd Cambridge (contact us for directions).

If there is doubt and confusion about the weather - we will make email/office number contact (am) or mobile phone contact pm (my office number is 01954-789966) if needed to clarify which location.

If weather is fine but becomes wet, we can retreat to my office (1 mile from the oak wood) for indoor energy cultivation exercises plus an indoor shamanic journey (guided meditation) and sharing.
