Cambridge UK   has a wealth of old churches and chapels. There is some controversy over which is the oldest. The 11th century bell tower of the Franciscan church, St. Benet's, usually gets the credit, but St. Peter's in the Roman part of the city also has a valid claim.
The problem is that old English churches are periodically modified, repaired or re-built over the centuries and most are composed of wood and masonry representing a mixture of dates and architecture.
